How Can I Remove The Date Imprint On Digital Photos?

I took many photos at a family wedding recently and accidently had the date set on. Is there any way to remove the date?

If it’s just removing the date, you can easily do it in your MS Windows Paint.
Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint.
Once there, in File > Open the photo you want to retouch.
In Tool Box on the left of the screen, select Pick Color. Your cursor will look like a dropper. On the photo, go to an area close to where the date is, and click there. What you are doing is selecting the color you want to paint over the date. So it should be as close as possible to the background colour around the date.
Next, select Brush. A brush stroke selection box will appear below the tools. Select the largest stroke. You now have a digital paint brush with the colour you want, for painting on your photo.
Go back to the date, click close to it and, without releasing, drag your cursor-brush over the date carefully. You will probably have to cover the date in a series of separate strokes. If a stroke didn’t paint right, you can Undo it from Edit on the toolbar. To Undo several actions, you need to Undo them one by one.
The above works well for fairly smooth textures of color. For variegated textures, you may have to pick out a few colors and paint them separately. Using the Brush, single clicks of the mouse will give a stipple effect.
When you’re done for each photo, Save your changes. If you’re doing this for the first time, I suggest you work with copies of your photos until you get the hang of it. Keep a set of the original in case you want to undo any changes you’ve saved.

Yes, you can remove the date. Normally this is done with something like Photoshop, PaintshopPro, or GIMP http://www.gimp.org In photoshop the tool that you would use is called the clone tool, and it works fairly well as long as the date is over some sort of background like grass.
