How Do I Store Over 10,000 Digital Photos?

I have downloaded PICASA and it is great but how do I now store over 9,000 photos to keep them safe? I bought an external hard drive (click free) but it takes ALL the philes in the computer not just the pictures. How can I just download Picasa and pictures and videos ONLY to this external HD?

though windows explore find the photo’s folders.
open another windows explore and click on the external drive
so now you should have 2 windows explore windows open
click on the external drive, make a folder called photos, then double click on that to open it up
click on the window where the photos are then click on the folder to high light it then right mose click. click on copy then move to the window with the new photo folder is, right click then click on past or move here and it should copy that folder with all the photo in it on to the external drive

i also have an external HD, but i choose each file that i want to have on it. i LOVE it! i have maybe 3000 photos and vids on it, with tons more space.
anyway, if you have an external drive and just plug it in your computer’s USB port, then you can transfer any files (and ONLY those files) to it and not diminish their quality in the process.
    good luck!!! =)

You could get a 1 TB external hard drive. You really do not need ALL the files on your computer – click free is an automatic backup system. I would imagine there is some way with this software to back up just your photos.
You can be exclusive in what you save to your external hard drive. Check out this tutorial on how to do this:http://www.ehow.com/how_2051585_hard-dri…

I have a portable hard drive, but you can select which files to put onto it. It is called “Verbatim” I put my photos on it so they don’t use up my computer’s memory and slow it down.
