I use a large external hard-drive (400gig) – the advangates are that if my computer “dies” of I buy a new one, then all I have to do is unplug and plug into new PC. A disadvantage (and I never thought of this – thanks !!!!!!) is that if the hard drive “dies” then I’m stuffed. I do back up online though. Hope this helps
I keep an original RAW file of each photo, and a tiff or photoshop format file of any edits, on my computer internal hard drive. I also back up all originals to an external hard drive. I consider any jpegs I make from them as low quality throwaways.
I back up my best photos onto another external hard drive, burn them to DVD, and back them up onto an Internet storage site (not a public photo album).
Advantages are that I am pretty sure I can recover important photos if something happens to any of the storage systems. Drawbacks are that it is time-consuming and expensive to do all this. The biggest drawback: backups don’t work if they aren’t made!
I store my photos on my computer and make a cd every once in a while.Dont make a dvd of photos as you would risk loosing more data if dvd gets scratched.
I also use photos.yahoo.com (will be transferring to flickr)
you can store your digital photos from your digital cameras through a data cable provided with the camera or you can use an external card reader and put your photos to your computer. you can install the driver from the C.D and restart and store your photos
Burn it onto a CD, on the computer and also photobucket.com
In my computer and burnt onto CD.
