What’s A Good Website For Online File Storage, And Picture Sharing?

July 26th, 2009 TokinaMaster 1 comment

I know there are alot of websites out there that offer file storage, but I’ve never had to use one. I’m trying to figure out a good, easy, and user friendly one.
What I plan to use it for is to upload a bunch of high resolution photos, and a couple videos, that I took at a trip we took to the lake, and have it so that the other people on the trip can easily browse and download them from there as well, so I don’t have to actually e-mail every person.
One thing important, I’d like to be able to just select all the files at once and upload (rather than having to pick and choose like 1 to 5 at a time), and also I’d like everyone who is wanting to download them to be able to download them all at one time, rather than one at a time.
Any good suggestions for a free site where I can do this?

Storage Of Digital Photographs – How And Why Have The Picture Itself Disappeared?

July 1st, 2009 TokinaMaster 3 comments

In my Picture storage, suddenly all photos have disappeared and just a type of screen saver, all the same, have taken their place. If I double click on a photo, it does come up, but I cannot go in and see the photograph I want, then double click. How can I rectify this.
Please keep in mind I am a 77 year old, fairly new photographer, but have been able to grasp everything so far, accept for this sudden change in foremat.

I Have 32 Photo Albums, What Is The Best And Easiest Way To Keep Track Of What Picture Is In What Album?

June 25th, 2009 TokinaMaster 2 comments

I would have pictures of the same or similar subjects in each album. Then number or letter each album. For instance Album A or #1 can pertain to butterrflies or lighthouses or Uncle Harry & Aunt Martha. Make a master list of each letter or number and what the album contains. Or you can arrange each album by time period; 2005,2006,2007 and so on. For myself I have each album arranged by place; the North, the South, the Midwest, etc. I have an album for Greece, Spain, Holland, etc. For those I used rub down lettering for each album identifying it. You must have some system to be able to find pictures. I would also use re-positionable labels near each pix for indentification. These can be moved around like those “stickies” made of weak glue. I hope that this has been a help to you.

Don’t Let your Digital Photo Frame Affects your Homer Decor

June 19th, 2009 TokinaMaster No comments

It could be troublesome to store your photo in a traditional way. Not necessarily because you have to print the photo out of camera, or the decision you make about which to go with, a photo frame or photo album, or how to blend them well into your home decor. An easy and modern way to go is choosing a digital photo frame. The clutter-cut digital devise features a vast range of designs and styles, which allows you to sharing photos with friends freely and adds elegance to your home decor as well.

Like shopping other decors, picking a good digital photo frame that suit your home can be tricky. Obviously, it should be battery powered, nobody want more awkward wire to clutter his/her House. Also, the styles and shapes are the main concerns to suit your home decor when choosing a digital photo frame.

A digital photo frame should blend with your home decor color. A good frame is not necessarily the most expensive one, or the most attractive one, it is the one that best conform to its surrounding decors, the one that can melt into your home decors. Contemporary living room furniture uses minimalist black, white and gray colors, so a white and crystal frame is a good one to buy; art styled furniture and lighting has an array of bright hues, thus a bright-color frame might be good to work with. A photo frame serves adding to the particular home atmosphere, not distorting or ruining it.

Choose a digital frame according your home decor theme. The home decor theme that you have determines what style, shape and size of a photo frame is better for you. Different people prefer different home theme decor. If you have a contemporary and modern home, you may like the frame with LED lighting rim and movie, music playing functions. For those prefer country style home, there are classy and wood rimmed photo frames. A big screen frame is better for bright and large room and for those who has cramped space a moderate screen frame is some thing not bad. Also, the screen size is related to your watching habit. For those like lie lazily back in the couch and control it via remote, a 10” frame definitely is the choice. Um, you like watch your precious photo at table? I think a neat and graceful 3.5” frame suit your needs. Displaying a photo slide show while not take too much space.

Can I Use A Portable Hard Drive And Usb Wire As Picture Storage For My Slr Camera Instead Memory Cards?

June 19th, 2009 TokinaMaster 4 comments

I have a Digital SLR ( a Nikon D40x). I was looking for a portable hard drive for my laptop and thought of the idea to use it as photo storage as well. I have the wire that would be required to connect the camera to the hard drive. I found a good cheap portable hard drive called the Western Digital Passport 120GB External USB 2.0 Portable Hard Drive. Can anybody tell me if I can do this (and if so how) before i decide to buy the hard drive.
