Can Anyone Recommend A Reasonably Priced Printer That Is Especially Good For Printing Digital Photos?

My nephew just bought a Kodak C813 digital camera and I was thinking about giving him a printer for Christmas. He is going to school so he doesn´t have a bunch of money to waste on consumables i.e. ink refills, paper etc. so it would be nice to have the best of both worlds.

Clarity When Printing Out Digital Photos On A Large Format Printer (mega Pixels Question)?

I have a large format Mutoh printer. Prints up to 4 feet wide. When printing out photos taken with a digital camera, how much difference is there between a 5, 10, and 20 mega pixel camera photo? In the past, I have read that anything over 5 mega pixels is not noticeable, but, when enlarging it to poster size, is there a noticable difference?

What Is A Good Professional Quality Brand Of Photo Printer For Digital Photos?

I’m switching over from a traditional dark room to a fully digital setup. I have been looking around, but all I can find are the “consumer” quality printers for point and shoot cameras. I have recently ugraded to a Nikon D200, and I would like a professional quality printer to add. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Is There A Decent Amateur Printer To Make Black And White Digital Photos?

June 15th, 2009 TokinaMaster 1 comment

There are some “pro” printers, made by Epson and others, that make very good black and white prints from digital photos. But they cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars, well beyond my budget.
The usual home printers and printer docks that I’ve seen in the $100 dollar range do well with color photos, but just can’t make a decent black and white print – they appear “washed out” (low contrast) and have a bluish cast instead of making true black.
Is it just having a printer that has the proper optimization to do black and white, or is there some software manipulations(s) I can try?
